And You Think Making Money With Blogs Is Easy | I Will Proof You Wrong
I have got to admit this. I started out working online for the fact that I thought making money on the internet would essentially be easy. Yes, we all hate the life of having a full time 8-5 job and wished that we could do something about this to make our life a better place to live it. Initially, I didn’t start out making money online by blogging to which I believe many would have. I worked myself up from affiliate marketing instead and whether if I opt in for a blog or not is not the matter. However, as I have struggled my way ‘up’, learning every possible ways and methods there is to make money online through affiliate marketing, I was able to harness new capability such as basic web building, web coding, article writings, etc. Recently, I have decided to launch my first blog – Blogxic.com – to share every bit of my knowledge about making money online to everyone.
And I thought making money with blogs would come easy for the fact that I have essentially cultivate a desirably amount of skills working online. How wrong it was for me to think that way. Blogging is entirely a whole new realm, a different dimension, a different universe to be exact.
Blogging is entirely a whole new realm, a different dimension, a different universe to be exact.
We all wish that blogging would essentially be an easier way of making money online but let us just get back down to Earth and start being realistic. Blogging isn’t all about posting up contents or posts that you are fond of. Starting a blog is very similar to starting a business online and the more you begin to realize such, the faster and easier it will be for you to push on the extra mile to strive online.
Essentially, when I started working on this blog itself – Blogxic. com – I was faced with a lot of consideration and decisions to make. You thought everything was just about a click of a button ? Not exactly. I was considering whether if I should opt in for a free or paid account. As a new blogger myself, I was reluctant to opt into anything that requires me to pay if I could almost get it for free instead. I couldn’t resist the temptation of getting it literally free. Well, I eventually took the much ‘pleasing’ looking offer and in no time set up a free WordPress account. However, with a free blog, I was limited to the amount of depth I could explore. I was very restricted. Honestly, I would really hope to see that my blog would be able to provide me with a decent amount of income through Adsense or some sort, but with a free account, there is literally no way I could cultivate this.
You can make money online blogging but realistically, as how I have come to find out, most bloggers will barely be able to make more than $500 during their first year. Only after the second year will you be able to witness a fairly improved increment but this takes a lot of effort and time. Unless your blog has 100k of visitors per month or a Google rank of 5 and above, you will not have advertisers who would be eventually interested in what you have to offer.
most bloggers will barely be able to make more than $500 during their first year
A blog is essentially a ‘gateway’ between you and your readers or potential customers. The way you ‘dress’ it up appropriately is very important. Either they would say, first impression and appeal is very important to trigger the ‘alert’ button of your readers. You could have had the most interesting content, the most brilliant idea within but without an appealing facade for your blog, no readers would actually have the slightest interest to explore further to what you have to present. Honestly speaking, I have yet been able to come up with a satisfying outlook for my blog, Blogxic.com. I am an individual of high expectations when it comes to personal success that runs down to even the slightest details. If I am essentially not satisfied with my own ‘creation’, what makes you think that others will feel the same too? I am not much of a techie. In fact, I know nothing of HTML, CSS, PHP, website’s coding and as such initially. But I knew I needed to know and I needed to learn. Unless you are able to pay for a web designer, there is no one you can really entrust the responsibility to see to your success other than yourself.
When it comes to ensuring a progressive performance for you blog, you not only need to come up with a flow of compelling contents, you must also be able to strive on promoting your ‘business online’ – advertising and expanding you audience. For every hour you spend writing a quality content, it takes another two hour to effectively promote and advertise it as far as you can appropriately. Not many would eventually have the patience of doing so and spending their time marketing. In fact, this is one of the most crucial symptom of a dying blog. As you tend to fall back and take matters lightly, the higher your chances are for your blog to deteriorate.
Blogging takes at least 3 years amount of commitment and provided that you strive constantly for it, you should be able to witness a substantial growth to results. 3 years is a long amount of time to wait. Be honest, do you think you are able to strive on for 3 years realizing that you may not be able to subsequently yield any decent amount of income before reaching your third year? The constant work and little payoff will leave most people burned out. But come to think of it this way, advertises as well as sponsors themselves are looking for a blog or website that can offer them an amount of desirable time length. What is the point of them of paying and advertising when the time you have practically ‘set’ for your blog to be aired online is a year? Ensure that you work in favor of your client and readers. It takes trust to build a substantial business and see that you see matters eye to eye on it too.
The constant work and little payoff will leave most people burned out
For my part, I have to admit that I still have a long way way to go about it. Even thou I hope to decrease the time frame to profit as soon as I can but I should never take this into my priority ‘account’. I believe as I will constantly work to the best of my ability through perseverance and determination, the opportunity and results will start to present themselves.
And you think that making money online today is easy. Have I proof you wrong? =)

You’re definitely right. The profits you reap in the beginning might be discouraging. Thats why you really shouldn’t be blogging unless you love to do it or because you’re writing about a topic you love. Otherwise, it will feel like a giant waste of your time. Profit should be secondary to motivation.

@ Gobankingrates
yeah you got that right
its not entirely about making money online anymore. You ought to love what you are doing and eventually money will show.
However, how many actually has the patience of waiting so? Therefore, persistence is very crucial.
thank you for your comment,buddy.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this.
have a great day.
cheers
I agree with you on this Febap. Blogging can really burn the person out if the person’s goal is only to make money. Having a reason to make money with blogging is really not a deep reason and you shouldn’t be blogging if that’s only your reason. As they say, “love what you do and you will not feel that you are working”. I agree with this, you should really love what you are doing to lessen the burnout.
Kind regards,
Gary
Can’t disagree whatsoever with what Goban says there!
The only reason I’m still “alive” online with regards to my persevering to make a so-called career out of it is that I have left myself no other option. Like how you feel Febap, a job is simply too unappealing to even contemplate now.
Hmmmm… what other choice then but to keep on plodding along at this thing called internet marketing and bloggering?
Cool post Febap Liew! Looking forward very much to the next insight of your deeper thoughts!
(you may wish to consider the wp plugin called KeyWord Luv, Febap. Its another way to potentially increase comments, but you may also argue that there is a small price to pay too… Let me know your thoughts on it, pls)

Hey jo,
you are right the part where people nowadays are looking for a better alternative of making money without the need of having to be restricted with a 8-5 job.
however, blogging and internet marketing isn’t the only choice that they have.. if they eventually raise no interest in this field, there is essentially no difference with having a day job to it.
what other choice would they most probably have?
i would not know, because I am not them. =P
however, just like you, i love blogging and i love internet marketing..
and that works well for me.
I’ll see to that,jo ..
maybe i’ll present that debate to you as guest post. lol
cheers
have a nice day

You are absolutely right.
Many people think making money blogging is a bed of roses, How wrong they are! Blogging is not as easy as many people think and you have to put a lot into it in order to get the right results.
